ENGINE/DRIVE TRAIN:

Power to go further and to keep on going, that’s what the OHV liquid cooled 675cc four-stroke engine of the Pioneer 700 delivers. Rubber-mounted for less cabin vibration and longitudinally mounted to allow direct driveshaft alignment to wheels for few frictional losses. Orienteering the crankshaft front to back in the chassis, flow of power drives straight to the wheels without any right-angle detours, reducing powertrain friction, putting more grunt into the ground. Fuel-injected for reliable starts and performance in inclement weather.

Every component on the Pioneer 700 is engineered to perform at the highest level. The alternator is no different—with 450-watts, it has plenty of power for everyday use and has enough left over for accessories that help you work easier, like winches, light bars and more. PROGRAMMED FUEL INJECTION

Thanks to Honda Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) featuring a 40mm throttle body allows the fuel mapping to instantaneously adjust to any riding condition. The Pioneer 700 range not only ensures trouble-free operation in the cold at varying altitudes, it reduces emissions and enhances fuel efficiency.

AUTOMOTIVE STYLED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

A vehicle this versatile demands a transmission that’s ready for anything. With a heavy-duty torque converter and three hydraulic clutches, three forward gears and reverse eliminates the need for unreliable drive belts. You get a steady stream of power and engine braking plus an override mode for manual operation on the fly utilising the convenient paddle shifters mounted to the steering column. This automatic style transmission is a fully sealed component too so it offers ultra-smooth gear shifting. Meanwhile, the two-stage shift map further optimizes power and torque delivery, even at higher RPM ranges.

CARGO BED CAPACITY

In many ways, this isn’t a just side-by-side. It’s a solution. Take the cargo bed—the capacity is among the tops in the industry (408kg for 700-2 and 454kg for 700-4) It’s strong and durable too so you can carry more cargo in fewer trips, saving you time. Now that’s smart.

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION:

Front independent double-wishbone suspension with dual-rate springs provides a substantial 200 mm (7.9 in.) of travel for excellent handling and all-day riding comfort. In addition to a fully independent rear suspension with 230 mm (9.1 in.) of travel, the rear shocks feature preload adjustability to handle the Pioneer 700’s generous load capabilities.

The tilt box with hydraulic-assist strut can hold up to 454 kg (1,000 lbs.), while the heavy-duty two-inch receiver-style hitch is ready to tow up to 680 kg (1,500 lbs.).

680KG TOWING CAPACITY

Sometimes you need to tow things, so we gave the Pioneer 700s a robust 680kg towing capacity—strong enough to handle some of those jobs you’d normally use a tractor for.

OTHER FEATURES:

The sturdy Occupant Protection Structure, standard doors with an automotive-style double latching system, upgraded front and rear torso bars, roll-up side nets, and three-point belts with an Emergency Locking Retractor mechanism (a speed limiter prevents travel faster than 24 km/h if it detects that a seat belt isn’t being worn), all help keep you and your passengers safe and secure.

A patented scraper system on the two front 200 mm brake discs helps prevent debris buildup between caliper and rim. An inboard-mounted rear 170 mm brake disc saves weight and is better protected from rocks and other debris.

Need to make a tight turn? Tip-toeing through tricky terrain? A short wheelbase and a tight turning radius makes it easy to manoeuvre out of almost any situation.

Plastic CV joint boots on the driveshafts are durable and tear-resistant.

The Honda Pioneer 700 2 Seat model includes 37.5-watt headlights have excellent balance and light-distribution, eliminating uneven light patterns and dark zones within their illumination area.

With well thought-out details like a standard water-resistant glovebox door and digital instrumentation, the Pioneer 700 gives you a lot more for your hard-earned dollar. Plus, high-grip floor surfaces and foot holds help to keep you and your passenger stable over rough terrain. The sturdy new front bumper and grille will help keep your Pioneer looking great year after year.
